#DaBaby No Longer Playing Austin City Limits and iHeart Radio Music Festivals After Homophobic Remarks

DaBaby is no longer performing at Austin City Limits Music Festival in October, the festival has announced. In addition, according to Rolling Stone, DaBaby is not going to be performing at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in September. The Charlotte rapper was previously removed from the bills of Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, and Day N Vegas. Pitchfork has reached out to DaBaby’s representatives for comment and more information.

DaBaby has faced considerable backlash for homophobic remarks he made during his performance at Rolling Loud Miami in July. Following his performance, he released the music video for “Giving What It’s Supposed to Give,” ending the visual with the message: “Don’t Fight Hate With Hate. My apologies for being me the same way you want the freedom to be you.”

DaBaby released a statement yesterday (August 2), in which he wrote, “I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important.”
