#Cyclist punches NYC cabbie, breaking bone in his face: cops

A bicyclist punched a 60-year-old cabbie — breaking a bone in his face — and then snatched a wad of cash from the taxi when the driver got out to confront him, according to cops.

The yellow cab driver was stopped with his driver’s side window open at the corner of 8th Avenue and West 15th Street in Chelsea around 7:15 a.m. Jan. 18 when the cyclist approached and socked him through the open window, authorities said late Wednesday.

When the driver got out of the cab, the suspect punched him a second time and swiped $155 from a cup-holder in the cab, police said.

The victim was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital with a fractured orbital bone.

The suspect took off and was still on the loose Wednesday.

Video shows him talking to another cyclist at 11th Avenue and 43rd Street after the incident.
