#Cute Corgi Dog Comforts People in New Tono to Inu PV Trailer

A new PV trailer has been released for the ongoing short TV anime series Tono to Inu, highlighting the cute corgi dog interacting and comforting various people. The short series has been broadcasting four versions of the show with different voice actors for the protagonist since October 10, 2024. It is expected to run for two cours of 24 episodes. 

The official Tono to Inu YouTube channel also currently lists the series under the English title The corgi and the samurai

The short anime series is airing with the following schedule: 

“~wanwan~” Akio Otsuka ver.

  • • January 9, 2025: episode 13 (second cour debut)

“~potepote~” Tomokazu Sugita ver.

  • • January 10, 2025: episode 13 (second cour debut)

“~kunkun~” Shunsuke Takeuchi ver.

  • • January 5, 2025: episode 12
  • • January 12, 2025: episode 13 (second cour debut)

“~mofumofu~” Masaki Aiba ver.

  • • January 6, 2025: episode 12
  • • January 13, 2025: episode 13 (second cour debut)

Haruki Kasugamori (Astro Note, Dragon Goes House-Hunting) is directing the anime, with Shun Miyazaki as music composer and Noriyoshi Konuma (The Dangers in My Heart) as sound director. OLM and Live2D Creative Studio are handling the animation production for the series. 

Rie Nishida’s historical comedy manga was first launched as a short series on Flex Comix’s Comic Polaris manga website on March 18, 2021. It was then serialized on October 14, 2021. Four tankobon volumes have been released as of October 2024.

Tono to Inu follows a former warrior of the Sengoku period named Tono, who has fallen on hard times since his peak warrior days. One day, he comes across a peculiar stray dog and decides to adopt him into his newfound peaceful life.
