Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions:

This statement:

“Florida is seeing the greatest increase in COVID cases in the nation. What’s the lesson? Denial does not work. Follow the science, follow the facts. We were aggressive, we showed leadership, and it worked.”
Gov. Cuomo, July 28

Gov. Cuomo dodged a bullet when the US Department of Justice dropped its probe into his coverup of nursing-home COVID deaths.

We say: Despite multiple probes into his coverup of nursing-home COVID deaths, the gov still touts his pandemic “leadership” — and continues to falsify “the facts.” A Reuters analysis found COVID cases in Florida increased the week ending Sunday by 60.5 percent — and in New York by 70.1 percent. The Empire State’s death rate per 100,000 people as of Tuesday was 276; the Sunshine State’s, 180. New York’s death rate is second only to New Jersey’s — some “leadership.”

This tweet:

We say: New York Times 1619 Project leader Nikole Hannah-Jones still argues with those who point out she rewrote history in claiming colonists fought the American Revolution chiefly to preserve slavery. Her latest lie is simply laughable: Times reporters “don’t just make things up”? From Walter Duranty’s 1930s USSR dispatches denying Ukraine’s famine to Jayson Blair, whose 2000s made-up interviews led to the resignations of two top Times editors, the paper is famous for its fabrications.

We say: Nancy Pelosi’s commission wasn’t going to call witnesses who don’t support Democrats’ narrative of Jan. 6’s events — and the media aren’t questioning their motives either. USA Today was typical in covering the committee credulously, saying Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn “begged lawmakers” to “get to the bottom of what happened.” What the paper doesn’t mention: Dunn’s Twitter posts show him to be a progressive partisan who cheered rioting after George Floyd’s death. “Racism is so American,” he said in a 2019 tweet in which he called Trump “#RacistInChief” and declared “#IStandWithIlhanOmar.”

This statement:

“The country is crippled by those economic sanctions from the US, many of them from Trump. President Biden talked extensively, I remember, even during the campaign, about humanitarian exemptions, a pause on sanctions. Where is all of that?”

We say: The MSNBC host thinks even out of office, President Donald Trump causes the world’s crises. But Trump’s “maximum pressure” campaign against Tehran included humanitarian and medical exemptions, and his administration repeatedly offered Iran COVID aid. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei rejected it, citing a conspiracy theory: “Possibly your medicine is a way to spread the virus more.” The regime just announced it’ll start producing vaccines from Cuba.
