#Elderly woman sexually assaulted in NYC laundry room

A creep sexually assaulted an 85-year-old woman inside the laundry room of her Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, apartment building Thursday morning — but was nabbed hours later in Manhattan, police said.

The incident unfolded around 9:30 a.m. in a residential building on Marine Avenue, according to cops.

The woman reported the assault two hours later and by 5 p.m. cops had caught up to a man fitting the description in Downtown Manhattan, according to police and sources.

Cops got a lead on the creep after they ran a photo of him from surveillance footage through the NYPD’s facial recognition unit and tracked him down, sources said.

The suspect, Mario Pope, 25, of Brooklyn, was charged with attempted rape, burglary, sex abuse, forcible touching and unlawful imprisonment.
