“#Crowdfunding Campaign for SHOW BY ROCK!! Live-action MV Project Reaches 500% of Its Goal”

As reported, Sanrio’s rock band-themed character franchise SHOW BY ROCK!! launched a special project for its forthcoming 10th-anniversary, titled “Road to 2022!! Aim for the 10th-anniversary! SHOW BY ROCK!!! Five Big Projects!” in March 2021.

The first phase of the project, “A music video project with rockers for a new song!” includes two crowdfunding campaigns to produce new music videos. The first one is for Mashumairesh!!‘s new song “Trigger Rock,” and it will be the franchise’s first live-action MV performed by the voice cast members themselves.

With the goal of 1,500,000 yen (about 13,700 USD), the crowdfunding campaign started on Campfire on March 27 and is scheduled to end on May 21. While there is still one week left, it has already raised a huge 7,755,885 yen (70,910 USD) from 608 supporters, which is more than 500 percent of its initial goal. How much more will be added in its last one week?

The completed music video will be streamed on the SHOW BY ROCK! franchise’s official YouTube channel and will be also included in the bonus disc for the “Trigger Rock” single to be released this year.
