#Cressida Bonas made Prince Harry cry about Diana for first time since death

“Cressida Bonas made Prince Harry cry about Diana for first time since death”

In a heartrending account from his new memoir “Spare,” Prince Harry recalls crying about his late mother, Princess Diana, for the first time since her death during a conversation with then-girlfriend Cressida Bonas.

In a translated excerpt from the leaked Spanish edition of “Spare,” which was supposed to debut next Tuesday, Harry, 38, describes breaking down when Bonas, 33, asked him about his mother, who was killed in a car wreck in 1997, “with the perfect combination of curiosity and compassion.”

“I remember thinking to myself, ‘Oh no, I’m crying,’” he writes.

“’It’s the first time I’ve been able to cry over my mother since we buried her,’” he admitted to Bonas.

Elsewhere in the book, Harry describes how his father, King Charles, did not hug him when he told him of Diana’s death, and his subsequent struggles with grief in the aftermath of the tragedy.

But despite the cathartic experience that left him feeling “indebted” to Bonas, Harry explained that the vacation also confirmed that the pair, who were introduced through his cousin Princess Eugenie in 2012, was not meant to be.

Bonas, an actress and model, did not want “to take on the stresses that came with being part of royalty,” he explained, while he was equally conflicted about asking her “to be a part of it.”

The couple parted ways in 2014, and have since gone on to find happiness individually: Harry famously with Meghan Markle, whom he married in 2018, and Bonas with property investor Harry Wentworth-Stanley.
