Cops wounded in Brooklyn attack leave hospital to cheers from fellow officers

Two of the three NYPD cops who were injured in an unprovoked attack in Brooklyn this week were released from the hospital Friday to a cheering crowd of fellow officers.

The policeman who was stabbed in the neck in the Wednesday late-night attack in Flatbush gave two thumbs up after getting out of his wheelchair outside Kings County Hospital, a photo shows.

The injured cop was wearing a blue NYPD hat and a department jacket, as well as an N95 mask and neck brace to cover his wound.

The second cop, who was shot in the hand, waved to the crowd of cheering officers as he was wheeled out by hospital staff.

The third injured cop, also shot in the hand, was not with them.

None of the officers have been publicly identified.

The cops were injured when suspect Dzenan Camovic allegedly ran up to the first officer and stabbed him in the neck on Flatbush Avenue near Church Avenue just before midnight Wednesday.

Camovic allegedly took control of the cop’s firearm, then got into a gunfight with other officers who responded to the scene.

During the melee, two other cops were shot in their hands, Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said in a press conference after the attack.

“It appears to be a complete cowardly, despicable, unprovoked attack on a defenseless police officer,” NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said at the press conference.

“I think we are all fed up with, what we’re saying is this violence has to stop,” he added.

Federal authorities are investigating the attack in conjunction with the NYPD, sources have told The Post.
