Chucky Cast Talks Resurrecting the Killer Doll This Halloween [Exclusive]

After slaying his way to the season finale of this brand new TV series, horror’s favorite killer doll is making the entire Chucky series available for streaming on Peacock. A Syfy/USA Network production, the show has been airing on the small screen starting in October, bringing the iconic horror villain into an all-new medium. Chucky has gotten eight episodes to play in with his television debut, and for those who missed it on TV, you can binge the series on Peacock as of Dec. 1.

Ahead of the finale airing on television, series star Jennifer Tilly posted to Twitter an image of herself with her friend till the end. The actress wrote, “Chucky and I really want you to enjoy the grand finale tonight! You will laugh, you will cry, you will forget to eat your popcorn! But no matter what, remember this: You always kill the ones you love!”

While we won’t get into any spoilers here for the sake of those who’ve been waiting for Chucky to arrive on streaming, we can say that the series is definitely worth checking out for horror fans. Along with Tilly returning as Tiffany, several other familiar favorites from the Child’s Play series also show up. Of course, Brad Dourif is back as the voice of Chucky, a voice that many fans might have been missing after Mark Hamill took over the role for 2019’s remake. Chucky also stars Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Björgvin Arnarson, Lexa Doig, and Devon Sawa.

The official synopsis for Chucky reads, “After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.”

It’s also been announced that Chucky has been renewed for a second season. Charles Lee Ray’s small screen endeavors have proven to be a success so we already have the assurance that there’s going to be more to come. Executive producer and Chucky creator Don Mancini said of the renewal, “We’re thrilled to start pulling the strings on a second season of puppet mayhem with Chucky. Many thanks to our partners at USA, SYFY and UCP for their incredible support and guidance bringing Chucky to the small screen, bigger than ever. And to the fans, Chucky sends his still-undying thanks and a message: ‘This isn’t over, not by a long shot. You better watch your backs in 2022!’”

Chucky starts streaming on Peacock on Dec. 1. For more new horror from an iconic franchise, the streamer is also home to Halloween Kills, the latest installment of the Halloween franchise that continues the feud between Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Michael Myers. Yet another major slasher franchise is also very close to returning with Scream hitting theaters in January. This news comes to us from Deadline.
