Viz Media has announced the release of a new horror comic anthology titled Betwixt: A Horror Manga Anthology. The collection features six short stories by Japanese and American creators, including an original illustrative cover and introduction by Junji Ito. It will be released on October 10, 2023 as a 200-page hardcover book. 

Betwixt: A Horror Manga Anthology will features stories from Ryou Hanada (Devil’s Line), Aki Shimizu (Suikoden III, Qwan), Shima Shinya (Lost Lad London, Star Wars: The High Republic — The Edge of Balance), Becky Cloonan and Michael Conrad (Wonder Woman), Leslie Hung (Snotgirl) and Eisner award nominee Sloane Leong (A Map to the Sun), and emerging comic creator Hua Hua Zhu. 

Junji Ito’s manga has inspired numerous adaptations, including Junji Ito Collection in 2018, Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre in 2023, and the upcoming Uzumaki series from Adult Swim, among others. 

Viz Media has released multiple volumes of Ito’s work in English, including Tomie, Gyo, Fragments of Horror, Remina, Sensor, and many more.
