Chris Brown looks like he might be making good on a messy situation involving him allegedly pulling out of a benefit concert in Houston, Texas, back in March.

According to reports, Chris Brown was supposed to perform at the One Night Only benefit concert for victims of Hurricanes Ida and Nicholas on March 19 at the Toyota Center in Houston.

Owner and Vice President of DML Real Estate Investors and Construction LeJuan Bailey said her company paid Brown’s performance fees, travel accommodations and private plane requests totaling $1.1 million only for him to cancel last minute.

In a statement sent to HipHopDX, DML Real Estate Investors and Construction LLC recently retained the services of Buzbee Law Firm to pursue claims of fraud and breach of contract against the R&B singer and CBE Touring, LLC.

However, according to a new report by TMZ, Chris Brown claims Baily isn’t telling the truth regarding his no-show at the event.

Breezy said he ended up backing out of the performance due to Bryson Tiller also pulling out, which violated a clause in his contract with the organizers. Lawyers on Brown’s side allegedly sent an email informing the organization two days before the event he was not performing.

Bailey argues the event was only told during soundcheck that Brown wouldn’t be performing. The organizer also claims she hasn’t received a dime of the money back she paid up front for Breezy’s performance.

“I acted in good faith and sponsored this concert out of love and respect for residents in need,” Bailey said during a recent press conference. “I am appalled that Chris Brown refuses to refund my money for a show he did not appear to after we announced our show and sold tickets.”

She continued: “At this point, it is my humble belief that Chris Brown’s actions are parallel to pure theft. He has the unmitigated gall to take my money, stand up the residents of Houston, then return to the city to perform on August 17, 2022. My message to Chris Brown: We will not sit back and allow you to disrespect the victims of Hurricane Ida and Nicholas in need.”

Chris Brown heard Bailey’s comments loud and clear as his team and the organizers are reportedly negotiating a way to settle the drama with the singer offering to make a 6-figure donation to a Houston-based charity. No agreement has been made yet, and Bailey is not afraid of taking Brown to court if no deal is met.

It’s important to note that TMZ reported seeing the letter that Brown’s team allegedly sent to event organizers dated March 17, two days before the event. So it’s unclear if Bailey’s team knew of the letter and didn’t update her at the time.
