Hey, space cowboys! What’s old is new again, because Netflix has published the opening credits for their upcoming live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop, and it features some new faces as familiar characters as well as some very iconic tunes. (Yep, that’s “TANK!” by Seatbelts.)

Based on the 1998 anime directed by Shinichirō Watanabe and featuring animation production by Sunrise, the live-action Cowboy Bebop series features André Nemec as the showrunner, Christopher Yost as the screenwriter, Yoko Kano as the music composer, and Shinichirō Watanabe as a special consultant. Netflix describes the series as follows:

COWBOY BEBOP is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.

Cowboy Bebop hits Netflix on November 19, 2021.
