#Chaos erupts at opening of Brooklyn store tied to DJ Khaled sneakers

A Brooklyn sneaker store with ties to DJ Khaled had its Thursday grand opening fall apart after chaos erupted in a long line of waiting fans — and fireworks were tossed into the crowd, witnesses told The Post.

Roughly 100 sneakerheads had been waiting outside the Snipes store on Flatbush Avenue near the Barclays Center for the 11 a.m. opening when people tried pushing their way inside, one onlooker said.

Staffers “wanted an orderly entry and they asked people to step back and no one would step back,” said the man who was among those in the line, but did not want to identify himself.

“Then they closed the door, and someone threw fireworks at the entrance,” said the witness, adding that the NYPD responded to the incident.

Temple Jackson, 26, who was hired to work security for the event, said, “Before the police showed up, we had some undesirables that were taking M80s and throwing them and causing explosions.”

“It got rowdy when they saw we were about to open up,” Jackson said. “People started pushing one another against the door. They were fighting, and then it got really bad. They started throwing M80s.”

Patrick Robinson, 34, who was waiting for the store to open, said “everyone dispersed” following the chaos.

“Everyone probably thought it was bigger than what it was because the firework was really powerful,” said Robinson. “It wasn’t like a regular sparkler. It was something big, like you thought it was a bomb — that’s how scary it was.”

The commotion caused the Snipes to delay the grand opening.

“People were waiting hours and none of us got in,” said the first witness, adding that, rumors had been swirling that DJ Khaled — the chief creative officer of Snipes — would be at the grand opening.

“They told us they’re moving the grand opening to tomorrow morning,” he said.

Snipes posted on social media Thursday: “Thank you Brooklyn for showing so much love to the new store in Flatbush. Due to caring about the safety of our customers and staff, we will not be opening the doors today.”

The NYPD received multiple 911 calls related to the store opening — including one at 8:20 a.m. for a large group and another at 9:19 a.m. for a report of people fighting outside the store, cops said.

Police could not confirm that someone threw fireworks.
