#Central Cee shares “Cold Shoulder”

West London rapper Central Cee was a buzzy artist in the U.K. music scene before his career blew open with “Obsessed With You,” a romantic single featuring a pitched-up sample of “Just for me” by PinkPantheress, the pop star forged in the fires of TikTok. That track will appear on 23, Cee’s new mixtape and the follow-up to last year’s album West Side, out on February 25. Today he’s back with a new song called “Cold Shoulder.”

Never one to shy about adding raw personal details into his raps, Central Cee offers an insight into his headspace on “Cold Shoulder.” “God knows my intention, I sin for the sake of progress,” Cee raps, pulling every ounce of emotion from the emo rap-tinged drill beat. “Got a big heart when it comes to my family / But in the streets, my heart is the coldest.” In the song’s black-and-white video, Cee tours around London in an expedition that, like the song, is a little bit nostalgic while comfortable with the present’s ringing successes.
