CeeLo Green has always had what could be described as a signature look. From his oversized shades and leopard capes to Jheri curl wigs and red sequin blazers, nothing is really off limits when it comes to his fashion accessories.

But his weight and overall appearance are another story — his management and label apparently want him to stay slightly on the more rotund side. According to a recent Instagram post from the Goodie Mob legend, he has plans to get in shape but has been advised to stay the way he is.

“#lol do y’all know my label and Mgt asked me not to lose weight?” he wrote in the caption. “They said ‘noooo it’s your look’ what y’all think?”

The text attached read, “When I lose my stomach, please don’t speak to me. I plan on acting funny.”

Xscape singer Kandi Burruss was one of the first people to respond to the post, writing, “I don’t know what you’d look like skinny… some people just look good with a belly!” to which CeeLo said, “Awh thanks boo lol.”

Electro-Hip Hop pioneer Egyptian Lover also chimed in with a few laughing emojis, but CeeLo wanted to talk shop instead and kickstarted what could be an interesting collaboration.

“og make some music wit me I know you got it,” CeeLo wrote to Egyptian Lover who was unsurprisingly onboard.

CeeLo and his Goodie Mob brethren dropped an album called Survival Kit last November, their first since 2013’s Age Against The Machine. During an interview with HipHopDX,  the Grammy Award-winning artist talked about the solo success he’s had over the years and how it impacted T-Mo, Big Gipp and Khujo.

“We all have been longtime friends,” he explained. “With men, there’s different personality differences, different artistic differences, opinions. Like, we’re men, we’re fathers, heads of households, and that energy is there, that tension is there at times. But no, we don’t leverage what we’ve gained separately against each other. We leverage it for the greater good of the collective. So in my opinion, Gnarls Barkley, Cee-Lo Green, The Voice, ‘Crazy,’ ‘Fuck You,’ everything — that’s a win for Dungeon Family.

“It’s no different than, ‘Hey Ya!’ or ‘The Way You Move’ or anything Outkast did. Like, ‘Hey, that’s my win too.’ That’s a win for Dungeon Family. Their success is my success, my success is their success, and I believe that we should all share and share like in that way.”

CeeLo’s label history includes Atlantic Records, BMG, Warner Bros., Elektra/Asylum, Arista and Easy Eye Sound owned by Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach.
