#CBS has technical difficulties in New York area for Chiefs-Browns

What a time for a playoff choke job.

There were social-media reports of Verizon FioS, DirecTV, Altice/Optimum and Spectrum viewers being mysteriously left in the dark, without CBS in the New York market at the beginning of the Chiefs-Browns playoffs game. As fans turned in, they were left with no access to the network.

“There are technical difficulties at WCBS affecting some parts of the NY area,” a WCBS spokesman said near the start of the second quarter. “We are aware and working on a solution.”

According to peeved fans on social media, CBS went out on different occasions. For Verizon Fios customers, they missed the Chiefs first scoring drive before the network appeared. When it returned on Fios, it strangely went out for Altice/Optimum viewers.

Outages were reported on social media in Manhattan, Long Island and New Jersey. Fans were forced to turn to apps, like CBS Sports, Yahoo, NFL, CBS All-Access or the Tony Romo-less ESPN Deportes.
