#Tsurune Movie To Premiere in Summer 2022, New Year Ilustration Released

A Summer 2022 release window has been announced for the upcoming Tsurune movie. The news arrived alongside a New Year’s illustration.

The movie previously received a trailer and its 2022 release window in September 2021.

The Tsurune series premiered in 2018 and is based on the 2016-2018 two-volume light novel series by Kotoko Ayano. The anime was produced by Kyoto Animation, while the light novels were published under KyoAni’s KA Esuma Bunko label.

Crunchyroll describes the series as:

When Narumiya Minato joins Prefectural Kazemai High School, he is quickly invited to join the archery club by the club’s advisor, Tommy-sensei. His childhood friends Takehaya Seiya and Yamanouchi Ryohei swiftly agree to join, but Minato is hesitant at first. Because Minato is the rare student with experience in archery, Tommy-sensei orders him to give a demonstration, which Minato does… except his arrow doesn’t hit the target. It is revealed that Minato has developed a terrible dysfunction regarding archery.

The Tsurune series was helmed by Takuya Yamamura (Violet Evergarden: The Movie unit director) in his directorial debut. Other main staff include Michiko Yokote (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) as series composer, the late Yasuhiro Takemoto (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid director) as supervisor, Nobuaki Maruki (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S) as chief animation director, and Miku Kadowaki (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S) as character designer.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Yuuto Uemura as Minato Narumiya, Aoi Ichikawa as Seiya Takehaya, Ryouta Suzuki as Ryōhei Yamanouchi, Shougo Yano as Nanao Kisaragi, Kaito Ishikawa as Kaito Onogi, Katsumi Suzuki as Tomio Morioka, Ayaka Nanase as Noa Shiragiku, You Taichi as Rika Seo, and Miyuri Shimabukuro as Yūna Hanazawa.
