It is confirmed today that the musical adaptation of Naoshi Arakawa’s romantic drama manga Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso / Your Lie in April is newly set to be performed at the Nissay Theater in Tokyo from May 7 to 29, 2021. It was originally planned to be performed at Tokyo Tatemono Brillia HALL in Tokyo in July 2020, but all performances were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All of the original six main cast members will not be changed. Yuta Koseki and Tatsunari Kimura are double-cast in the role of the male protagonist Kousei Arima. Ereika Ikuta (idol group Nogizaka46 member) is cast as the main heroine Kaori Miyazono, alongside Fuuka Yuzuki as Kousei’s childhood friend Tsubaki Sawabe. Koki Mizuta and Takuto Teranishi are double-cast as Kousei’s and Tsubaki’s childhood friend, Ryota Watari.

Riko Sakaguchi, who co-wrote the screenplays for Isao Takahata’s 2013 anime film The Tale of the Princess Kaguya and Hiromasa Yonebayashi’s 2017 film Mary and the Witch’s Flower, provides a script. And American composer Frank Wildhorn, who is known for his recent works for  Death Note The Musical, composes all of the music.
