#Bungo Stray Dogs Launches 8 Major Projects to Celebrate Anime’s 8th Anniversary

Kadokawa has announced that it is celebrating the eighth anniversary of the Bungo Stray Dogs anime series with the launch of eight special commemorative projects, beginning on April 7, 2024. The anime first aired on Japanese television on April 7, 2016.

The company plans to celebrate the anime’s eighth anniversary with fans all over the world through the “Eighth Anniversary Eight Major Projects” initiative. The first four of the “Eight Major Projects” were revealed, along with a commemorative logo of the anniversary celebration.

The “Eighth Anniversary Eight Major Projects” will start with the “Eighth Anniversary Commemorative Memoirs with Animate International.” Throughout the anniversary period, physical and online Animate stores worldwide will be reprinting specially drawn Bungo Stray Dogs seasonal illustrations (which were previously sold in stores) to sell as commemorative memorial goods.

These illustrations will include seasonal drawings for Halloween and New Year’s, as well as several illustrations, including the first illustration of the “Gakuen Bungo Stray Dogs” series, which is now a customary April Fool’s project. All these will be time-limited items displaying the eighth anniversary logo.

The second project will be the “RED TOKYO TOWER Collaboration,” which will be held on April 19, 2024 until May 26, 2024. It will feature items and experience drawing inspiration from the anime’s Sky Casino setting. More information will be posted on Red Tokyo Tower’s official Twitter later.

The third anniversary project is the “Tobu Zoo Collaboration,” which will be held starting on July 13, 2024 and onwards throughout the rest of the year.

The other four “Eighth Anniversary Eight Major Projects” will be announced at a later date. More details of each project will be announced on the special eighth anniversary page of the official anime website and the anime’s official Twitter account

Crunchyroll is currently streaming all five seasons of Bungo Stray Dogs, which describes the synopsis as:

Kicked out of his orphanage and on the verge of starving to death, Nakajima Atsushi meets some strange men. One of them, Dazai Osamu, is a suicidal man attempting to drown himself in broad daylight. The other, bespectacled Kunikida Doppo, nervously stands by flipping through a notepad. Both are members of the “Armed Detective Agency” said to solve incidents that even the military and police won’t touch. Atsushi ends up accompanying them on a mission to eliminate a man-eating tiger that’s been terrorizing the population…
