Meanwhile, the cast includes Shouya Chiba as Tetsuro Okino, Asami Seto as Arumi Nikaido, Shinichirou Miki as Koji Tajima, Yuuki Takada as Miyuki Shirogane, Uoken as Kintarou Kataoka, and Taiten Kusunoki as Ginnosuke Muto.

The anime follows Tetsuro, a young engineer who self-developed a robot called Bullbuster. Tetsuro is sent to a small extermination company which has to deal with mysterious large creatures in addition to its usual financial problems.

Bullbuster is part of an original project featuring the involvement of P.I.C.S-affiliated movie director Hiroyuki Nakao and manga creator Eisaku Kubonouchi. Plans for an anime and live-action adaptation have existed since at least 2018.

Two Kadokawa-published novel volumes were released in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Nakao wrote the books with Kubonouchi as cover artist. A concept book for the project was distributed in 2017 at COMITIA122.
