“#Brook Lopez slapped Nets logo after Bucks’ Game 7 win”
It wasn’t quite Kyrie Irving stomping on the Celtics’ logo one round earlier, but former Nets center Brook Lopez made sure to slap the “B” insignia at midcourt before departing Barclays Center following the Bucks’ Game 7 victory Saturday in Brooklyn.
Lopez, the all-time leading scorer in Nets history with 10,444 points over nine seasons, was dealt to the Lakers in the 2017 trade that brought since-departed guard D’Angelo Russell to Brooklyn.
The 33-year-old Lopez – in his third season with Milwaukee after spending one season with the Lakers — was caught in two Getty photos following the Bucks’ overtime win Saturday night bending over and tapping the Nets’ logo with both hands.
The 7-footer averaged 11.4 points and 7.4 rebounds in the seven games against his former team, including 19 with eight boards in 46 minutes Saturday night.
The Celtics had accused Irving – who played two seasons in Boston before signing with the Nets in 2019 — of disrespect by stepping on their leprechaun logo at TD Garden following Brooklyn’s Game 4 win during the opening round.
