#Britney Spears’ conservatorship to be explored in new Netflix doc

“Hi. My name is Britney Spears.”

The 39-year-old singer’s recognizable voice anchors a new teaser trailer that dropped Tuesday for Netflix’s forthcoming documentary, “Britney vs Spears.”

In the clip, Spears can be heard leaving a voice message for her lawyer on January 21, 2009, at approximately 12:29 a.m.

“Hi. My name is Britney Spears. I called you earlier. I’m calling again because I just wanted to make sure that during the process of eliminating the conservatorship…” she says in the trailer.

Britney Spears’ lengthy and controversial 13-year conservatorship will be examined in “Britney vs Spears.” A full trailer will be released on Wednesday, Netflix said, and a release date has not been revealed.

The doc is directed by Erin Lee Carr and has been in the works for over a year.

The film centers around Spears’ conservatorship and will also feature people who know the “Womanizer” singer. The iconic pop star’s father, Jamie, filed a petition earlier this month to end the conservatorship that he has been in charge of for over a decade.

The next court date in the mother of two’s case is scheduled for Sept. 29.

Hulu and FX’s “Framing Britney Spears” was released in February and also details the entertainer’s battles and the #FreeBritney movement.

Jamie has been in charge of his daughter’s finances and career since 2008, after her public mental breakdown and divorce from Kevin Federline.

In June, Spears stood before a judge to plead her case and begged for an end to the “abusive” conservatorship she had been enslaved under.

Her shocking testimony revealed that Jamie controls her $60 million fortune and the Mississippi-native discussed in court how she had been drugged and forced to take birth control and compelled to work. “He loved the control [he had] to hurt his own daughter, one hundred thousand percent,” she said during her hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court.

“I’ve lied and told the whole world I’m OK, and I’m happy,” she sobbed. “I’ve been in denial. I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized.”

“I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m so angry. It’s insane. And I’m depressed. I cry every day,” Spears continued. “I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. It’s my wish and my dream for all of this to end.”
