#Braves vs. Phillies odds, prediction

The Atlanta Braves entered their series with the Philadelphia Phillies having not been above .500 all season long, still trying to recapture the form that got them to the 2020 NLCS.

Phillies starter Zack Wheeler has had mixed results against the Braves with a lifetime 8-7 record in 18 starts with a 3.63 ERA and 3.6 walks per nine innings issued, but has four strikeouts or fewer in five of his past seven starts against the Braves with three or more runs surrendered in four of them.

The Braves counter with Ian Anderson, who in eight career road starts has given up three home runs in 43 ¹/₃ innings and has a 3.12 ERA with 10.6 strikeouts per nine innings. The Braves are also 2-1 in Anderson’s three starts against the Phillies this season.

The Braves lead the league in home runs with 1.5 per game while the Phillies are 20th in home runs per game with just one per game in home affairs.

The Phillies lineup leads the NL in strikeouts per nine innings, and the Phillies having given up at least five runs in five of their past eight games entering Wednesday, the Braves path back to being a force in the NL should take a step forward with a win.

The play: Braves, +120
