Nearly two years ago, Black Dresses broke up. A statement written by Ada Rook, the industrial-pop group’s co-founder, blamed “invasion of privacy and harassment” from so-called fans and critics targeting Devi McCallion, the band’s other half. In February 2021 the band released a new album called Forever In Your Heart, making it clear that they had not, in fact, reunited. The not-reunion continues today with another new Black Dresses project, an eight-track release called Forget Your Own Face. Dripping with misanthropy and equally venomous self-loathing, Forget Your Own Face is a welcome return for the panic attack rave-for-one sounds of Black Dresses. Listen below.
