In a preview of his five-minute speech, the former two-term Democratic president who occupied the White House from 1993 to 2001 paints Trump as an ineffective leader who he claims has failed in his response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Donald Trump says we’re leading the world. Well, we are the only major industrial country to have its unemployment rate triple,” Clinton says.
“At a time like this, the Oval Office should be a command center, instead it’s a storm center. There’s only chaos. Just one thing never changes — his determination to deny responsibility and shift the blame,” he said.
“The buck never stops there,” he continued, referring to the iconic “The Buck Stops Here” sign that adorned President Harry Truman’s desk.
Bubba is also expected to praise Biden, 77, who will be formally crowned the party’s nominee at the all-virtual convention on Thursday evening.
His appearance in the top speaking slot just ahead of former second lady Jill Biden has raised eyebrows as he faces increased pressure over his relationship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who killed himself in prison, and Epstein’s accused madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently imprisoned as she awaits trial as his accomplice.
Earlier Tuesday, images emerged of Clinton being given a neck massage by one of Epstein’s alleged victims nearly two decades ago.
Meanwhile, Jill Biden’s ex-husband came forward on Monday with accusations that she had a sordid affair with Joe Biden in the 1970s while they were still married.
