#Biden reportedly mocked for using script to tap Kamala Harris as his running mate

Shortly after Joe Biden called Sen. Kamala Harris about tapping her as his running mate, the gaffe-prone former veep was mocked for using a script during his virtual chat, according to reports.

“I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate,” Biden wrote on Instagram.

A photo posted on his account shows the 77-year-old speaking on a laptop with the beaming California senator as he holds up his iPhone with its speaker facing the computer, suggesting someone else was on their call, the Daily Mail reported.

But it was a sheet of paper seen under the phone that caught people’s attention.

“I’ve decided I would like you to join this effort to win back the soul of our country and be our nation’s next Vice President,” the text reads. “I think you are entitled to know why I chose you. There are three reasons.”

Biden was soon mocked in pro-Trump social media for resorting to a script during his call with his newly minted running mate.

“Biden’s staff had to write a script for him so he’d know why he was even talking to Kamala Harris. ‘I’m calling you today because…,” wrote Sean Davis, co-founder of conservative online mag The Federalist.

Benny Johnson, chief creative officer of the conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA, also took a swipe.

The Trump fundraising account @TrumpWarRoom weighed in, too.

“ ‘I am calling you today … There are three reasons.’ Joe Biden needed a script to understand why his handlers chose Phony Kamala Harris to be his VP,” it said.

Meanwhile, MSNBC was accused by some of cropping the script to spare Biden the embarrassment,” Fox News reported.

“MSNBC cropped the photo of Joe Biden video chatting with Kamala Harris, removing Biden’s talking points from the image.

It’s an embarrassment Biden needed talking points to talk to his own VP,” GOP rapid response chief Steve Guest tweeted.

“Biden is clearly a puppet of the left,” he added.

Conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec wrote: “MSNBC doctored the image of Biden calling Kamala to remove the script he was using.”

MSNBC did not immediately respond to a request for comment by The Post.
