#The Eminence in Shadow Celebrates Light Novels’ 5th Anniversary With Shadow Visual

The first light novel volume of The Eminence in Shadow was released in 2018. To commemorate the fifth anniversary of the book series, The Eminence in Shadow‘s X (formerly Twitter) account has released a Shadow character visual drawn by the anime’s character designer, Makoto Iino.

The Eminence in Shadow light novel series currently has six volumes as of October 30, 2023. Daisuke Aizawa writes the isekai series, which is published under KADOKAWA’s Enterbrain label, with illustrations from Azunishi. The first season of the Nexus-produced anime premiered on October 5, 2022 and ran for 20 episodes, while the 12-episode second season begin airing on October 4 of this year.

Yen Press describes the light novels as:

Even in his past life, Cid’s dream wasn’t to become a protagonist or a final boss. He’d rather lie low as a minor character until it’s prime time to reveal he’s a mastermind…or at least, do the next best thing-pretend to be one! And now that he’s been reborn into another world, he’s ready to set the perfect conditions to live out his dreams to the fullest. The Eminence in Shadow was first serialized on Shousetsuka ni Narou as a web novel in January 2018. The light novels have inspired a manga adaptation and spin-off.
