#Biden-Harris first Democratic ticket since 1984 without an Ivy League grad

Joe Biden’s choice of Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate marks the first time that the Democratic presidential ticket hasn’t had an Ivy League graduate since 1984, according to a report.

Biden, who revealed his selection of the California senator on Tuesday, graduated from the University of Delaware and the Syracuse University College of Law.

Harris, a former California attorney general, attended Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of Law, CNBC reported.

Harris, whose mother is Indian and whose father is Jamaican, became the first woman of color nominated for a major ticket.

The Democratic presidential ticket of Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro in 1984 was the last without an Ivy League graduate.

Mondale attended the University of Minnesota and the University of Minnesota Law School.

Ferraro, of Queens, attended Marymount Manhattan College and Fordham University School of Law.

They lost to Ronald Reagan and his running mate George H.W. Bush.

President Trump graduated from business school at the University of Pennsylvania from what was known then as the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce.

Vice President Mike Pence went to Hanover College and Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney’s School of Law.

The last Republican ticket without an Ivy League graduate was John McCain and Sarah Palin in 2008.

McCain attended the US Naval Academy and Palin went to the University of Idaho.
