#Biden, Democrats’ lies about cops spawned sickening shooting: Devine

The targeted attack on two LA cops last weekend is the inevitable result of the despicable lie Joe Biden and his party have been pushing all summer for political advantage — that police are “systemically” racist murderers of black people.

That lie has driven violent anti-cop BLM-Antifa riots in Democratic cities from New York to ­Seattle.

Police are demoralized, and resigning in droves, leaving the poorest, most crime-ridden communities less safe.

Violent criminals are emboldened. Crime rates are surging.

As of Friday, 37 law enforcement officers have been “feloniously killed” — a k a murdered — this year, according to the FBI. That’s 25 percent more than the same period last year.

In New York, police response times are delayed.

Who is surprised?

As the riots raged, Democratic mayors and councils voted to abolish, “reimagine” or defund their city’s police departments. A billion dollars was stripped from the NYPD.

American voters don’t want this. That is the case, especially, for black Americans, 81 percent of whom wanted police presence in their community to stay the same or increase, according to a July ­Gallup poll.

What more do you need to know of the malign intent of BLM-Antifa than the sight of their protesters blocking the hospital entrance where the two injured sheriff’s deputies were undergoing surgery Saturday night.

Video shows protesters yelling “F–k you, pigs,” and “I hope they f–king die.”

Biden issued a statement of support for the injured officers Sunday, but he still couldn’t let go of his narrative that cops are to blame for systemic racism.

“Acts of lawlessness and violence directed against police officers are unacceptable, outrageous, and entirely counterproductive to the pursuit of greater peace and justice in America,” he said.

Get the subtext? Yes, police are systemic racists but attacking them makes the anti-police movement look bad.

Biden and the entire Democratic political class never condemned the violence engulfing their cities until the polls turned against them.

For three months they tried to gaslight Americans into believing the protests were “mostly ­peaceful.”

Then, too late, Biden laughably tried to blame “Trump’s America” and draw a moral equivalence with “armed militias . . . aligned with white supremacists.”

No one was fooled. We can see who was throwing Molotov cocktails and bricks at cops and burning down buildings: Biden ­supporters.

Biden fueled the anti-police sentiment from the minute the video emerged in May of George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police.

“Every day, African-Americans go about their lives with constant anxiety and trauma, wondering who will be next”, he said at the time, calling for “Justice for ­George Floyd.”

On June 9, after five weeks of riots, Biden told CBS there is “absolutely” systemic racism in law enforcement.

“Look, not all law enforcement officers are racist,” he said. “But the way in which it works right now is we’ve seen too many examples of it.”

On July 8, in the middle of the “Defund Police” craze, in an interview on digital media site NowThis News, Biden said, “Yes, absolutely,” when asked if “we can redirect some of the [police] funding?”

Now his campaign claims he never said such a thing.

Unless “Yes, absolutely” means “No,” that’s patently false.

On Sept. 3, Biden’s campaign launched a new ad promoting the narrative of systemic racism in policing and promising to “hold police accountable.”

“Why, in this nation, do black Americans wake up knowing they can lose their life in the course of just living their life?” Biden ­intones.

Later he tweeted: “This is our moment to root out systemic racism and ensure justice finally rings out for all in America.”

But there is no evidence of “systemic” — as in entrenched, embedded, inbuilt, foundational, widespread — racism in policing, as Manhattan Institute fellow Heather Mac Donald, author of “War on Cops,” has shown in detail.

Last year, nine unarmed black people were fatally shot by police, down from 38 in 2015. They represented 0.1 percent of all African-Americans killed in 2019.

It is true that one-quarter of people fatally shot by police are black, which is disproportionate to their 13 percent share of the population.

However, it is less than you would expect from a disproportionately high black crime rate, which overwhelmingly victimizes other black people, who are entitled to be protected by police.

To perpetuate the narrative of systemic police racism only justifies targeted attacks, such as Saturday’s ambush of the two LA County deputies, and the 2014 assassination of NYPD Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu.

Democrats thought stoking black grievance would pay dividends at the ballot box.

But the opposite is the case.

They have left Trump the field clear to portray himself as the “law and order president.”

A Rasmussen poll this week found that likely voters who have experienced violent anti-police protests in their community are more likely to vote for Trump.

You saw the political dividend in Kenosha, a peaceful slice of Middle America in the swing state of Wisconsin which suffered more than $11 million in damage from last month’s riots after the police shooting of an armed black man, Jacob Blake.

Big crowds turned out Sept. 1 to thank the president for sending in the National Guard and coming in person to offer a helping hand.

When Biden followed two days later, barely anyone turned out to support him.

In politics, as in life, you reap what you sow.

NY loves Chris diss guy

Readers have flooded 91-year-old John Cartafalsa with well wishes following our story about the theft of his precious Christopher Columbus statue, allegedly by his Upper West Side neighbor, Dr Sean Morrison.

A replacement gift of a bust of Columbus was sent yesterday to Cartafalsa by the National Columbus Education Foundation and the Columbus Citizens Foundation “as an act of solidarity.”

“For many Italian Americans, the act of vandalism toward a Columbus statue or other image of the famed explorer is considered an ethnic slur,” says a statement from the group.

“This gift is made in solidarity with all Italian American organizations as a representation of the strong sense of pride we have in our heritage and in those who proudly remember and celebrate their immigrant ancestors.”

Not hidin’ like Biden

President Trump was castigated by supposedly “undecided” voters handpicked by ABC Tuesday at a televised town hall in Philadelphia.

But he should get points for fronting up and respectfully answering their questions.

Joe Biden, on the other hand, refused ABC’s invitation and stayed in his basement. No surprise, as The Post reports Trump has answered four times as many media questions as Biden over the last two months.

What’s more, Trump managed to answer without a teleprompter.
