#Urusei Yatsura Cafes To Open From December With 1/7 Lum and Ten Figure

“Urusei Yatsura Cafes To Open From December With 1/7 Lum and Ten Figure”

Limited-time Urusei Yatsura cafes are set to open in Tokyo, Osaka, Aichi, and Miyagi, starting with Tokyo this December. The cafes are meant to commemorate the broadcast of the new David Production-produced TV anime adaptation of  Rumiko Takahashi‘s manga.

The cafes will feature a 1/7 scale figure of Lum and Ten made by DesignCOCO that visitors can take photos with. Lum and Ten also have food dishes themed after them in the menu, which are the “Lum no Aijou Tappuri Oni-on Gratin Toast” (“Lum’s Love-filled Oni-on Gratin Toast”) and the “Ten-chan no Fire Curry” (“Ten-chan’s Fire Curry”) respectively. The latter depicts Ten on a flying boat inspired by his duck-shaped potty.

The other main dish is inspired by lecherous protagonist Ataru Moroboshi. Dubbed the “Acchi Kocchi Yosomishinaide Set” (“Please Don’t Look Around Set”), it features three main meal items in the form of a hamburger steak, omurice, and spaghetti.

Ataru’s and Lum’s dishes cost 1,650 yen (~US$11.80, tax-included), while Ten’s costs 1,540 yen (~US$11.05, tax-included).

Some of the other menu items are:

“Dengeki Pancake” (“Electric Shock Pancake”); inspired by Ataru and Lum

“Otome no Kairiki Parfait” (“A Maiden’s Superhuman Strength Parfait”); inspired by Shinobu Miyake

“Lum no Toragara Soda” (“Lum’s Tiger-patterned Soda”)

•”Ten-chan no Wataame Soda” (“Ten-chan’s Cotton Candy Soda”)

“Kissaten no Coffee” (“Cafe Coffee”)

The drinks section includes location-exclusive bottled drinks that come with a random charm (out of six designs). The charms have images of Ataru, Lum, Shinobu, Shutaro Mendo, Sakura, and Ten respectively. Additionally, customers who order from the drink menu will receive a random original paper coaster (out of seven designs).

The Urusei Yatsura cafes will have purchasable original goods as well, such as acrylic key holders, acrylic magnets, heart-shaped can badges, a long-sleeved T-shirt, and a mug. An online store for the goods will open later on December 8.

The Tokyo cafe will be at BOX cafe&space Harajuku Alta from December 8 to February 5 of next year, while the Osaka cafe will be at Abeno Contact from February 9 until March 12, 2023. Aichi’s cafe will be at BOX cafe&space Nagoya Lachic #1 from March 16 to April 9, 2023.

In contrast to the shorter end and start gaps between the other cafes’ operation periods, Miyagi’s cafe will only begin on June 1, 2023. It will be located at BALLER:S Aeon Mall Shinrifu Minami-kan and will run until June 25, 2023.

Currently, reservations can be made for the Tokyo cafe on the Urusei Yatsura cafe website for 660 yen (~US$4.70, tax-included). Those who book a slot online will receive a free gift in the form of an original A4 clear file, of which there are seven designs in total, when they order from the menu.
