Quality Control Music, the label home to Atlanta artists including Migos, Lil Baby, and Lil Yachty, has been acquired by Hybe America, the company led by Scooter Braun. Braun is perhaps best known as Justin Bieber’s manager. The New York Times estimates the deal to be worth around $300 million.

Braun, who also manages Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato, has been the sole chief executive of Hybe America since January of this year and the Quality Control acquisition marks his first deal in the role. Hybe America is a division of the company which manages BTS and is a major player in the K-Pop world.

“QC is one of the most significant independent labels in the world,” Braun said in a statement to the Times. “They not only distribute music, but they also distribute culture. Their artists are the voices of their communities.”

The deal will see Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas at the top of the label, under the direction of Braun. The two companies had prior links with Braun having managed Migos rapper Quavo since 2021.

“We want to take our brand worldwide and need partners with mind-sets like ours — ground up, self-made and building companies from nothing,” Thomas, Quality Control’s chief executive, said in a statement. “All of Hybe’s leaders are entrepreneurs with track records for finding, growing and amplifying their talent globally.”

Braun joined Hybe in 2021 after the Korean company purchased his Ithaca venture, home to Braun’s management deals, music publishing assets and other ventures for just over $1 billion.
