#’Beat up’ Aaron Judge dealing with mystery Yankees injury

BALTIMORE — Aaron Judge was removed from Tuesday’s 5-1 win over the Orioles in the ninth inning with what manager Aaron Boone called lower-body soreness.

Boone said it wasn’t serious, but something he has noticed in recent days. He said the right fielder would likely sit out a game in the next few days.

Judge looked fine at the plate, with a homer and walk, but Boone said he was “beat up” without specifying a specific issue.

Right-hander Michael King was recalled from the alternate site Tuesday, replacing Deivi Garcia on the roster. Garcia was optioned back to the alternate site following Monday’s loss, when Garcia gave up two runs in four innings.

The Yankees’ offensive woes have gotten so deep they’re even impacting LeMahieu, who has seemed slump-proof at times since joining the Yankees.

LeMahieu has gone the other way less frequently this season than in his first two years with the Yankees. Boone pointed to pitch selection as a potential reason.

“He’s been a little less selective on some things,” Boone said of LeMahieu. “He’s swinging at things that are inclined to get you to put the ball on the ground on the pull side.”

But LeMahieu, in 2-fpor-20 skid, had two hits, including a double, Tuesday, as did Gleyber Torres, who was in a 6-for-33 slump with no extra-base hits heading into the game
