A Beginner’s Guide To Making Your Trip Memorable

If you are reading this blog, you are most possibly a traveler. I am sure you have been to a few places already and had your share of experiences. But that doesn’t mean you have found your purpose yet. Travel seems to be an undefined art; everyone wants to do it but not all of us know how. As two traveler souls, we want all fellow travelers to find the best in traveling. So if you are planning or thinking about travel, read this article for sure!

Get a little lost and let go of the itinerary.

Get a little lost. This tip might not sound like much. After all, it’s just two words: Get a little lost. But this is one of the most important pieces of advice I can give to you. On your trip, your biggest enemy will be planning. Yes, it’s wonderful having an itinerary and knowing exactly what you want to do each day. And if you stick by it, then kudos to you! I respect people who plan everything out and make lists of things they want to accomplish on their trips. However, you’re going to spend a lot of your trip wondering what else you could have done or where else you could have gone — if only you hadn’t stuck by your itinerary so tightly, right?

Keep your gadgets hidden away.

Life is about experiences, and for me, travel is an experience like no other. I’ve traveled across the globe, from Australia to Alaska, from Thailand to Dubai- but there was one common denominator wherever I went: technology. These days it’s hard to avoid your phone, and even if you want to, you can’t always control your surroundings.

Get a local phone number.

No matter if you are going out of town for business or pleasure, You should take care of a few things before getting on the plane. Getting a phone number in the area is one of these things. It doesn’t matter whether you have your cell phone with you — you can still easily get a local number which will come in handy in many ways.

Talk to strangers.

I’m sure you’ve heard it a million times, talk to strangers when you travel. But here’s the thing — I shouldn’t say ‘when you travel’ but ‘if you can.’ Traveling is the most exciting and adventurous trip you could ever wish for. If your mind wonders about how easy it would be to talk to strangers in that new place, then you are right! Everyone loves being treated and helped by someone they don’t know. It can be fun to travel by yourself, but staying in hostels and hotels can sometimes be lonely. Meeting other travelers is one way to come out of your shell. This includes talking to people you may not know before going on your trip.

Do something new every day.

Do something new every day when you travel sounds like a funny cliché, doesn’t it? But it’s important. You’ll be able to speak of your experience in a very interesting way that people will probably listen to attentively. When you’re traveling there is always something new to do. You can be a tourist at its best. So, why not exhaust all the interesting places you come across. Don’t miss anything!

Collect Moments

We all want to remember the time we spent together with our loved ones and friends. Making your trip memorable and making memories along the way can be done by writing a travel blog, taking photos, and making a travel video. Taking a trip is very exciting especially when you travel around a new place. It’s wonderful to remember a place that’s outside of your normal routine and the new things you discover might just inspire you for your next trip.

Don’t tick-off places, tick off emotions!

Tuck in! This is a no-nonsense guide to planning your next trip. Boarding pass in hand, and passport ready, let’s look at the steps a beginner should take to make sure you don’t end up ticking off places but tick off emotions instead. We never know what’s going to happen next, so we often look back at our past. So, if a trip is even remotely planned for or looked forward to, emotions can run high. As it is not always possible to tick off all places that sound exciting or looks tempting, it is better to tick off moments instead. Why? Well, your memories are like muscles in your body that are designed to withstand stress and would eventually break under the weight of shitty situations, terrible destinations, and a general lack of preparedness. Making your trip memorable doesn’t mean listing down places you should reach out to — but creating moments you should live through.

Takeaway: Make your travel journey a memorable experience. Let go of the plan and just be there!
