#Automata Ver 1.1a Cour 2 Gets 2024 Premiere, Visual

The first visual of NieR: Automata Ver 1.1a‘s upcoming second cour is here, with the illustration showing an unconscious, unmasked 2B lying on the ground. Additionally, it was announced that the new episodes will being broadcasting in 2024.
The first cour of NieR: Automata Ver 1.1a started in January but, beset by delays, only ended after the Winter 2023 season — Episodes 9 to 12 had to be dropped as batch on July 23. Crunchyroll and Bilibili stream the show overseas.

The anime is inspired by NieR: Automata, the 2017 open world action-RPG about androids and alien-manufactured machines fighting over a desolate Earth in the distant future. Ryouji Masuyama (Blend S, The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls assistant director) directed the A-1 Pictures production and handled the series composition with NieR: Automata creator Yoko Taro.
Also part of the main staff lineup are Jun Nakai (Lord El-Melloi II’s Case Files {Rail Zeppelin} Grace note) as character designer and chief animation director and MONACA (Assassin’s Pride) as music composer. The returning voice actors from the game include Yui Ishikawa as 2B, Natsuki Hanae as 9S, Chiaki Kano as YoRHa’s commander, Keiko Isobe as Operator 6O, Meari Hatsumi as Operator 21O, Aoi Yuuki as Pacal, Daisuke Namikawa as Adam, and Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Eve. The anime adds Atsumi Tanezaki as Lily, a character from the YoRHa prequel stage play and its manga adaptation who serves as the Resistance leader in the anime.
