“#First 3 Evangelion Rebuild Anime Films to Get 4D Re-Release in Japan This December”
The official Evangelion Twitter account announced today that the first three Rebuild anime films, Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone, Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance, and Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo, will be re-released into Japanese cinemas in December for a limited time with an upgrade to 4DX and MX4D for the first time. A new trailer for the screenings was released alongside a visual.
The screenings will start on December 4 with Evangelion: 1.11, and switch every week until they're planned to finish in cinemas on December 24. 82 cinemas across Japan will be showing the films. 4D films have real-life special effects, such as water splashes, that are felt by theater attendees to make films feel more immersive.
The final Evangelion anime film, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, was scheduled to be released in late June but was delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Director Hideaki Anno recently asked fans to wait a little while longer for the film to release.
