#At least five injured in overnight shootings across New York City

At least five people were shot overnight in the Big Apple, police said Wednesday.

A 24-year-old man was blasted in the arm at Third Avenue and East 169th Street in Claremont Village in the Bronx around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, cops said.

He was taken to Lincoln Medical Center by private means with non-life-threatening injuries.

About an hour earlier in Manhattan, a 34-year-old man was shot in the leg on Frederick Douglass Boulevard near West 142nd Street in Harlem, cops said.

He was taken to Harlem Hospital by private means. Cops describe him as “highly uncooperative.”

At 10:45 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the arm on the grounds of the Lehman Village Houses on East 110th Street near Park Avenue.

He was taken to Metropolitan Hospital Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Just a minute later in Brooklyn, cops were called to St. Marks Avenue in Crown Heights for a 33-year-old man shot twice in the leg.

He was taken to the Kings County Hospital Center in stable condition, and cops also say he was “highly uncooperative.”

Hours earlier, a 26-year-old man was shot on 49th Street near Fourth Avenue in Sunset Park around 8 p.m., police sources said.

He was arguing with his girlfriend’s ex-husband when a group of men started to assault him and one of them shot him in the thigh.

He was taken to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn with non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in any of the cases.

Overall on Tuesday, there were a total of seven shooting incidents with nine victims, cops said.

On that date last year, the city tallied eight shootings, also with nine victims, according to police.

Compared to this time in 2019, the city has seen a 72 percent spike in shooting incidents and a 77 percent increase in shooting victims, the NYPD said Wednesday morning.

A total of 762 shooting incidents with 928 victims have been reported across the city.

That’s compared to 443 incidents with 524 victims last year, cops said.
