A roof collapse at Jet Set, a nightclub in the Dominican Republic, on Tuesday has left at least 124 people dead and dozens more injured, according to local officials. The tragedy took place during a weekly live music and dance night called Merengazo, headlined by Rubby Pérez. The popular merengue artist was pronounced dead by his team the following day.
Several public figures were present at the show including former Major League Baseball players Octavio Dotel and Tony Blanco, and Montecristi province governor Nelsy Cruz. “All relief agencies have provided the necessary assistance and are working tirelessly in the rescue efforts,” President Luis Abinader said on Tuesday morning. The cause of the collapse has not been revealed as of press time.
que tristeza lo de RD. No hay palabras que consuelen ante una tragedia así. Solo queda desearle mucha fortaleza para los familiares y seres queridos de las víctimas.
