“#As vaccines roll out, doubters rush to take credit”
“We’re looking to get it by the end of the year if we can, maybe before,” President Trump said at a May 15 Rose Garden event. He added on Twitter: “Vaccine work is looking VERY promising, before end of year.”
CNN analyst Jessica Huseman retweeted his remark, adding: “Go ahead and flag this tweet for when we do not have that vaccine by the end of the year.” Many outlets ran stories on how meeting Trump’s timeline would require a “miracle.”
Well, on Monday, Dec. 14, Queens critical-care nurse Sandra Lindsay became the first person in the country to receive the vaccine, thanks to Operation Warp Speed.
As we note elsewhere, Gov. Andrew Cuomo rushed to bask in the glow, after months of sowing seeds of doubt about any “Trump” vaccine. But he wasn’t the only one. In September. Kamala Harris said of vaccine work: “There’s very little that we can trust that . . . comes out of Donald Trump’s mouth.”
Joe Biden was on the denial train, too, saying: “I trust vaccines. I trust scientists. But I don’t trust Donald Trump. And at this point, the American people can’t, either.”
Now watch Democrats take credit for the hundreds of millions of vaccinations to come, and the miracle that wasn’t suppose to happen.
