“#Mixcloud Launches Livestream Series With Flying Lotus, Róisín Murphy, and More”
Streaming platform Mixcloud has developed a new ticketed livestream feature for artists and announced a series of performances: Lafawndah begins the series on October 25, and Flying Lotus follows with a Halloween headliner on October 31. Róisín Murphy and Leon Vynehall will host their own in November. See Mixcloud’s calendar below.
Mixcloud’s new Tickets tool will allow artists to make money through the livestreaming function that it unrolled earlier this year. Livestream concerts have become crucial for artists as the pandemic continues to limit live music. Artists like Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Uzi Vert partnered with Live Nation for virtual shows on Tidal; others, like Travis Scott and 100 gecs, have turned to Fortnite and Minecraft for in-game events.
