You saw it coming for a long time and now it has happened: Crunchyroll is eliminating the KAZÉ brand…

Long served the brand CASSETTE in German-speaking countries as the primary label of AV Visionen GmbH, formerly Anime Virtual GmbH and recently Crunchyroll GmbH. After almost 13 years of establishing the brand in the DACH region, this name was also buried on June 1, 2022.

Due to the acquisition of Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures/Funimation, KAZÉ Anime, KAZÉ Manga, KAZÉ Movie and KAZÉ Games will no longer serve as labels for local (home) cinema and merchandise releases. Instead, the label appears under the name Crunchyroll sell its products.

Color change pending

No separate sections for manga and anime are planned in the future. Crunchyroll then releases the products as a label with the same name. Crunchyroll is currently not promising to make any changes to the designs and packaging. The KAZÉ web shop will soon be changed to orange instead of red, and you can still place your orders in the same shop.

The change applies to the KAZÉ Anime Night with immediate effect. From the next cinema event, the new name “Crunchyroll Anime Night” will be used instead of the old name. A first logo for this has already been presented, which is similar to the event logo of the «Crunchyroll Movie Night» from other countries (eg USA, UK, Moldova). The first cinema event with the new name will be «My Hero Academia – Movie 3: World Heroes’ Mission» be on June 28, 2022 (we reported). “Sing a Bit of Harmony” will then be released in German-speaking cinemas on July 26, 2022.
