“#Arch Manning, nephew of Eli and Peyton, atop 2023 QB recruit rankings”

Arch Manning, the nephew of Eli and Peyton, is only entering his sophomore year of high school but the spotlight is already on him and it only got brighter Wednesday when he was tabbed the No. 1 quarterback and No. 5 prospect overall in the class of 2023 recruiting rankings by 247Sports.
Manning is attending Isidore Newman, the same high school where his dad Cooper, and Eli and Peyton, all played. He took over as the starting quarterback as a freshman and enjoyed immediate success, throwing for 2,438 yards, 34 touchdowns and six interceptions.
“He’s Arch,” head coach Nelson Stewart told 247sports. “I coach him that way.
“While certainly his name looms very large, he’s able to play within himself.”
Alabama, Duke, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas have already offered Manning a scholarship, according to 247Sports, though the family previously told Sports Illustrated it would be taking his recruiting process slowly. Eli, Cooper and Arch’s grandfather, Archie, of course, all attended Ole Miss while Peyton went to Tennessee.
Manning didn’t need a high recruiting ranking for the top schools to come calling, but now he has it anyways.
“The biggest thing now is that he’s started to listen, is getting to know the coaches and taking it slow,” Stewart said. “I think it’s going to be something [Cooper] said, ‘closer to a 1970s recruitment’ where it’s really all about relationships, learning not just about the program but the coaches and taking the glitter off things and getting to know the people. Some of these offers become like patches on a letter jacket and some kids are so fast and excited to announce on Twitter. It’s something where they are taking it humbly and any time you have that level of interest it’s fantastic and he’s doing things slowly and quietly to make the best possible decision.
“For him the moment isn’t when you sign but where you go after that. It’s been very refreshing and old school and the coaches have been very accepting of that which has been refreshing as well.”
