#Arcade Fire, Pearl Jam, David Byrne, Jenny Lewis, and More Contribute to New Voting Rights Compilation

A second edition of Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy has been announced. The 77-track compilation will be available exclusively on Bandcamp this Friday, October 2, for just 24 hours. All of the comp’s proceeds go to the Voting Rights Lab.

GMTATCOAD Volume Two features unreleased songs, covers, remixes, live versions, demos, and more. Contributors to the compilation include Pearl Jam, David Byrne, Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes, Phoenix, NNAMDÏ, Perfume Genius, Jenny Lewis, the War on Drugs, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Little Dragon, Bedouine, Faye Webster, Big Boi, and Caleb Giles. There’s also a live recording from the late John Prine, playing “Your Flag Decal Won’t Get You Into Heaven Anymore” with Margo Price, Jeremy Ivey, and Kenneth Pattengale. Good Music to Avert the Collapse of Democracy is organized by author Dave Eggers, artist managers, Jordan Kurland and Darius Zelkha, Christian Stavros, and Barsuk Records label head Josh Rosenfeld.

The first Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy came out on September 4 and was also available for just 24 hours. The 40-song release featured contributions from Hayley Williams, Jamila Woods, Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, the National’s Matt Berninger, and others. According to Dave Eggers, the first volume raised over $250,000 for Fair Fight and Color of Change.
