Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was accosted and called a “f—ing bitch” by a fellow member of Congress on the steps of the Capitol, she confirmed Tuesday.

The incident, according to The Hill, occurred Monday when Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.), joined by Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas), was coming down the steps of the Capitol after voting. Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), meanwhile, was walking up the steps to cast her vote.

Yoho told AOC in “a brief but heated exchange” that she was “disgusting” for her recent remarks tying poverty and unemployment to the recent spike in crime in New York City.

The progressive darling, according to the outlet, told Yoho he was being “rude.”

The two then kept walking their respective ways, but Yoho remarked after taking a few steps, “f—ing bitch.”

AOC told The Hill reporter who witnessed the exchange that it was the first time another lawmaker had challenged her in such an aggressive way.

“That kind of confrontation hasn’t ever happened to me — ever. I’ve never had that kind of abrupt, disgusting kind of disrespect levied at me,” she told the outlet.

Asked about the exchange, Williams downplayed the incident and Yoho’s language.

Despite being in a position to hear the entire back-and-forth, Williams said he wasn’t paying attention.

“I was actually thinking, as I was walking down the stairs, I was thinking about some issues I’ve got in my district that need to get done. I don’t know what their topic was. There’s always a topic, isn’t there?” he remarked.

AOC confirmed The Hill’s account of the lawmakers’ exchange in a tweet Tuesday, saying, “I never spoke to Rep. Yoho before he decided to accost me on the steps of the nation’s Capitol yesterday.

“Believe it or not, I usually get along fine w/ my GOP colleagues. We know how to check our legislative sparring at the committee door. But hey, ‘b*tches’ get stuff done,” she continued.

In her second and third tweets on the matter, she slammed Williams’ handling of the situation and accused him of accosting her too.

“Gotta love Republican courage from Rep @RogerWilliamsTX: when he undeniably sees another man engaged in virulent harassment of a young woman, just pretend you never saw it in the most cartoonish manner possible and keep pushing,” she wrote before adding, “(He’s lying, by the way. He joined in w/ Yoho).”

“What’s wild to me @RogerWilliamsTX is why would you blatantly lie to a reporter who saw this exchange? You were yelling at me too, about ‘throwing urine,’” the New York Democrat wrote.

A spokesperson for Yoho did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment. He said “no comment” when reached by The Hill a few hours after the exchange.

A spokesperson for Williams could not immediately be reached by The Post.
