By any commercial or critical metric, Mobile Suit Gundam is a solid gold hit, and soon thanks to U-Works a few fans of the series with money to burn will be able to celebrate this fact with 1/100 scale models of the RX-78-2 Gundam and Char’s custom Zaku II crafted from 24 karat gold.

The U-Works Mobile Suit Gundam Solid Gold Statue RX-78-2 Gundam (Beam Rifle Ver.) is approximately 180 millimeters (about 7 inches) tall and crafted from 1000 grams of 24 karat gold. This statue is limited to a run of 20 units, and it retails for 26.4 million yen (about $240,777 US) including tax.

The U-Works Mobile Suit Gundam Solid Gold Statue RX-78-2 Gundam (Beam Saber Ver.) is approximately 100 millimeters (about 3.9 inches) tall from the base to the tip of the beam saber and it is crafted from 140 grams of 24 karat gold. This statue is limited to a run of 10 units, and it retails for 3.96 million yen (about $36,116 US) including tax.

The U-Works Mobile Suit Gundam Solid Gold Statue Char’s Custom Zaku II is approximately 175 millimeters (about 6.9 inches) tall and crafted from 1000 grams of 24 karat gold. This statue is limited to a run of 20 units, and it retails for 26.4 million yen (about $240,700 US) including tax.

 

The statues will be available for purchase through a special website that opens on April 20, 2021.
