#Antonio Brown suspended 8 games with NFL future in limbo

Last week, Antonio Brown announced his latest retirement from football. Now, the controversial receiver will likely find out if he has an NFL future.

Brown will have to serve an eight-game suspension for violating the NFL personal conduct policy, should the receiver resume his career, the league announced Friday. Brown has been a free agent since being cut by the Patriots after one game last September — the third team Brown played for in less than a year — following allegations of sexual assault in a civil lawsuit. Another woman later accused Brown of sexual harassment, and the NFL looked into both claims.

The 32-year-old, seven-time Pro Bowler said he would never play in the NFL again after being released by New England, and has waffled on his stance numerous times since then. Last week, he wrote on Twitter it was “time to walk away” from the game.

“Thank you everyone who been part of this journey i sincerely thank you for everything! life goes on 84! I came i saw i conquered mission complete Call God,” Brown wrote.

No team has officially shown interest in adding Brown, in part due to the uncertainly of the NFL’s investigation. However, reigning league MVP Lamar Jackson opened Ravens training camp by saying he hoped Baltimore would sign Brown, who is a cousin of Ravens receivers Marquise Brown.

“I was hoping we would get him,” Jackson said Wednesday. “I’m still hoping — a little bit…..We want to win, and I can tell in him [that] he wants to win. He wants to play ball.

“I just feel, around us, he was a great guy. You don’t see anything going on at all. He’s a cool, down-to-earth guy. He’s passionate about the sport of football.”

The next day, Ravens coach John Harbaugh addressed the franchise quarterback’s desire.

“We’ll look at any and every player at all times. Antonio Brown is no exception,” Harbaugh said. “I don’t even think he’s really available to sign right now. So, it’s not really a conversation you have until he’s available to sign. That’s where we stand on it.”

The Seahawks have also been linked to Brown.
