“#Gillian Welch Details Next Archival Album, Shares New Songs: Listen”
The Lost Songs collects material that Welch and David Rawlings recorded at home in 2002 to fulfill a publishing contract, comprising 48 songs in all. They issued Vol. 1 in July after surprise releasing an album of cover tunes earlier in the month.
Since releasing The Harrow and the Harvest in 2011, Welch has worked with Rawlings on his albums Nashville Obsolete and Poor David’s Almanack. They released an earlier archival collection in 2016 titled Boots No. 1: The Official Revival Bootleg.
