#Another staffer for Connecticut Gov. Lamont gets COVID-19

Another member of Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont’s staff has tested positive for COVID-19.

Chief of Staff Paul Mounds said Saturday the staffer was close to the governor recently, and that the individual is quarantining after experiencing mild symptoms.

Mounds said Lamont is feeling well and will undergo scheduled testing in the coming days.

The chief of staff added all staffers who had been in contact with Lamont will self isolate.

“We have implemented further protocols to limit contact with the governor, but this is yet another reminder that the virus is spreading across our state and across the country,” Mounds said in a statement.

“We all must continue to keep our guard up by wearing masks, avoiding gatherings and taking necessary precautions like washing our hands regularly,” he continued.

The new diagnosis comes after Lamont’s director of communication tested positive for coronavirus on Nov. 13. The governor quarantined for 14 days as a precaution, according to WTIC-TV.
