“#Anohana 10th Anniversary Event to Feature Sequel Story Set 10 Years After the Anime”
The sequel story that Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day director Tatsuyuki Nagai teased back in July may actually be a reality … in a way. During the 10th anniversary celebrations of the series in Chichibu, it was revealed that a reading of a new story written by series screenwriter Mari Okada will be staged that feature the Super Peace Busters 10 years after the anime series.

The reading will be a part of the “ANOHANA 10 YEARS AFTER Fes.” in the setting of the story, Chichibu, and be performed by the original voice actors from the series. The event will be staged on August 28, exactly a decade after the events that were depicted in the series. The event will also be streamed live on Stagecrowd with tickets going up today for the live stream and available through the event’s website.
The original Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day TV anime series was broadcast in Japan from April 14, 2011, to June 23, 2011. Crunchyroll is streaming the series, describing it as such:
Jinta Yadomi and his group of childhood friends have become estranged after a tragic accident split them apart. Now in their high school years, a sudden surprise forces each of them to confront their guilt over what happened that day and come to terms with the ghosts of their past.
