“Anno and Higuchi’s Shin Ultraman Film Releases Destructive New Teaser Trailer”

It’s only a month until Shin Ultraman hits Japanese theaters after a COVID-19 delay and to get people excited for the release of the film, Toho released a brand new teaser trailer for the flick, previewing the destruction that will be seen in the film as well as Kenshi Yonezu’s theme song “M87.”
The Shinji Higuchi (Attack on Titan live-action films, Shin Godzilla)-directed film was originally set to be released in the early summer of 2021, but had been postponed to May 13, 2022, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hideaki Anno (Evangelion) is the lead writer of Shin Ultraman as well as the producer and planner.

Shin Ultraman is said to have the same impact on the original Ultra series as Shin Godzilla did on updating the original Godzilla film for the modern era, with the team behind Shin Godzilla in the same roles, including director Shinji Higuchi, writer Hideaki Anno, and composter Shiro Sagisu, working on the project.
