#Aniplus Asia Announces The Duke of Death And His Maid For Southeast Asia

Singapore-based distributor Aniplus Asia has announced on their social media that they would include The Duke of Death And His Maid to their Spring 2021 lineup for Southeast Asia. It previously announced the addition of The Case Study of Vanitas to their lineup as well. The Duke of Death And His Maid is set to premiere on July 4.

The anime’s staff includes Yoshinobu Yamakawa (Hi-Score Girl, Little Busters!) as director, Hideki Shirane (Danmachi) as series composer, Mitsuru Kuwabata (Hi-Score Girl) as character designer, and Yusuke Suzuki (High Score Girl) as CG Director. J.C.Staff is in charge of the animation production, SMDE is in charge of the CGI, and Gen Okuda and Takeshi Watanabe are in charge of music composition. Yuuya Hatano is in charge of character modeling, Akira Suzuki as art director, Miho Kimura as color designer, Shingo Fukuyo as cinematographer, Kentarō Tsubone as editor, and Jin Aketagawa as sound director. 

The opening theme song “Mangetsu to Silhouette no Yoru” (“A Full Moon on Silhouette’s Night”) is sung by Natsuki Hanae and Ayumi Mano, who voice the titular Duke of Death and the maid Alice respectively. The ending theme song, “Nocturne,” is also sung by Mano. 

Other members of the cast include Hōchū Ōtsuka as Rob, a butler who serves the duke, Inori Minase as Viola, the Duke’s sister, Wakana Kuramochi as Caph, a half-human/half-witch, Hiroshi Kamiya as Zain, a wizard with a bird-like head, and Yūma Uchida as Walter, the Duke’s younger brother.

Koharu Inoue first debuted the manga in October 2017 on Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry web manga site.

The story follows the Duke of Death who is cursed to steal life from any living thing he touches. Rejected by his aristocratic family, he now lives in a mansion in the woods together with his maid and only companion, Alice, who enjoys teasing him.
